I’ve been writing about the Outsell Signature Experience and the program is now up and the event running from now until the end of the year. Focused on all things innovation, we’re providing a look at the economy, the industry, and M&A, in keeping with tradition, as these macro trends drive our industry’s growth.

We will also have another COVID-19 update this year because just when we thought it was over, the Delta variant came crashing down. And let’s not talk about Lambda or Mu, or yesterday’s news mandating vaccines, etc., etc. To separate fact from fiction, we are bringing…

Well, Maverick’s wings got clipped, as Paramount Pictures just pushed the Top Gun sequel’s release into 2022. Similarly, the next “Mission Impossible” flick is turning into “Mission Not Possible Next Spring” — it’s just been pushed back several months as well. And there have been quite a few other delays, too.

I understand that there are contracts with movie stars, and releases are supposed to happen a certain way at a certain time. But really, why anyone is holding onto movie theatres in a digital age is beyond me. …

It’s tradition at the Outsell Signature Experience — running this fall through the end of the year — to bring you the must-have outlooks that impact our industry. Ryan Sweet, Senior Director of Economic Research at Moody’s Analytics, will bring us the Global Economic Outlook on September 8th at 8am PT. Following that, Outsell and JEGI CLARITY, our co-producer, will bring you the annual Global Information Industry Outlook and the M&A Outlook respectively.

On October 13th at 8am PT Ned May, SVP Analytic Operations will bring you the Outsell take on what’s happening in our industry. From uncertainties around return…

Wow, where has the summer gone? Labor Day is around the corner, and the start of the by-invitation-only Outsell Signature Experience, co-produced with JEGI CLARITY, is less than two weeks away. We hope you are as excited as we are about the full quarter of amazing speakers and topics we have planned for you, all focusing on the essential theme of innovation.

Every year, we have the leader of one of our industry’s largest companies speak to share views on the industry and what’s ahead. …

We kick off the by-invitation-only Outsell Signature Experience, co-produced with JEGI CLARITY, in less than three weeks. I’m really looking forward to the beginning of this quarter of experiences we’ve prepared for you! Three months, all centered on a critical theme — innovation — and we have so much in store that you’re gonna love.

Of course, one thing that’s still on our minds is the pandemic. Its ebbs and flows have been the biggest drivers of activity over the past 18 months, and it’s clear that COVID-19 is not going away any time soon. The start of 2021 brought…

As we approach the kick-off of the invitation-only Outsell Signature Experience, co-produced with JEGI CLARITY, innovation is on everyone’s minds. I’m extremely excited about this jam-packed collection of sessions, including Outlooks, Analyst Segment Views, Innovation Case Studies, Innovation FutureScapes, and so much more. We’ve designed a full quarter of experiences all focused on the key theme of innovation.

The health of the data and information industry is closely tied to the state of the global economy, and growth rates for our sector have consistently tracked changes in GDP. So, we’re delighted to welcome back Ryan Sweet, Senior Director of Economic…

As I’ve written about before, nothing has brought about more innovation and a need for agility than our response to the pandemic. On-again, off-again — the goal of getting people together continues to elude us, as our clients say they want to get together and then radio back that right now isn’t yet the time.

So, we decided to make this fall’s events the Outsell Signature Experience, co-produced with JEGI CLARITY. Rather than host digital council meetings for our members, then digital topical meetings, and then a discrete Outsell Signature Event, we are connecting the pieces into a full quarter’s…

Risk is high on the list of important topics keeping CEOs up at night — such a simple four-letter word, yet one fraught with peril. When we think of risk, the typical things come to mind, like financial risk and cybersecurity risk. But look around, and leaders suddenly have risks coming at them from everywhere. It’s enough to make us want to crawl under the sheets and hide. Being a leader means we take on risk and, to a certain extent, are comfortable with it. My, though, the risk list has gotten long.

One CEO I spoke with wants to…

The pandemic has taught our industry agility like nothing else we’ve seen in our lifetime. Fittingly, it’s time once again to update our plans for events, which have been on-again / off-again as it relates to face-to-face or digital.

When the year began, all heck was breaking loose, with the dark of winter creating issues everywhere. Then spring brought the vaccine, the hope of herd immunity, and with it our plans for F2F events began to bloom. We decided we’d do the Outsell Signature Event digitally but move our Outsell Leadership Community meetings to September and do those F2F. …

I’ve been writing a bit lately about technology’s negative impact on the planet, including such issues as bitcoin mining and drunk-on-water server farms. I haven’t yet even touched on all the mineral resources mined and processed to make our devices — from semiconductors all the way to finished tablets. These technical marvels delight at first but eventually find themselves in the junk heap due to planned obsolescence — another bad side-effect of our technology-driven society.

At some point, all of this is unsustainable, and as CEOs, that realization is sinking in as we plan for our businesses. Enter the era…
